Bird watching in Getxo.
The guided tour takes place in one of the sections of the Flysch of Bizkaia. An area of our coast, in addition to nesting species such as the kestrel and the yellow-legged gull, there are also rock formations of great geological wealth. The route begins next to the parking lot of the beach of Gorrondatxe / Azkorri, a circular route, in which we will be delighted with the presence of all kinds of birds. Hearing these birds while enjoying the views of the cliffs of Getxo is a real wonder. La Galea and its cliffs are one of the favorite places for migratory birds. A place that, together with the pine forest that we find nearby, allows us to enjoy both seabirds and birds that are used to breed and live among the heather of the Basque coast. During the route, we have the opportunity to enjoy the flora through species such as wild orchids, serapias cordigera. Even, if we are lucky, we may see some of the many red squirrels that inhabit the pine forest of Azkorri. Undoubtedly a very complete guided tour. 
Common species.
Although during our guided tour we were lucky enough to hear and see a good number of birds. They are not the only ones that can be observed. According to experts, more than 60% of Iberian species visit our land at least once a year. A very curious fact that tells us the reason why Euskadi is at the forefront of bird watching both at sea and on land. And the fact is that the type of birds that we can see on land is complemented by those of the sea to offer us a nice range of possibilities. Can you imagine being able to see the large and imposing griffon vultures and the striking albatrosses in the same day? In the Basque Country it is possible. Here is a brief summary of the species we were lucky enough to see during our experience: greenfinch, magpie, blackcap, blackcap, wren, goldfinch, stonechat, black-fronted stonechat, kestrel, yellow-legged kittiwake, little tit or linnet.

How to get to Azkorri.
As we have already mentioned, the activity takes place in Azkorri (Getxo). A space, which can be reached both by private and public transport. We leave you some indications and suggestions in case you have any doubts about how to get to the meeting point of this experience.
- Private transportationIf you decide to use private transport, you can leave your vehicle in the parking lot where this experience begins (the Azkorri beach parking lot). It is a large and free parking lot where at 8 in the morning (the time when the activity starts) there are usually no problems to park. The best option to get to this point is to head towards Getxo and use the BI-3722 road that connects Andra Mari (formerly Santa Maria de Getxo) and Azkorri to reach our destination.
- Public transportIf you choose to reach Azkorri by public transport, the best option is the bus. The Bizkaibus line that runs from Bilbao – Getxo – Azkorri has a stop about 200 meters from the parking lot, where this activity begins. Anyway, remember that although you have to walk for about 2 kilometers, there is also the possibility of using the subway (Berango stop).

- We advise you not to bring your pets and if you do, to keep them on a leash. We, like you, are animal lovers, but you must understand that barking dogs make the activity difficult.
- The route does not have steep slopes, in fact, it has been designed so that everyone can enjoy this activity. In this sense it is a simple and practically flat route.
