Altube waterfall, a small earthly paradise in the northwest of Araba.
The Altube waterfall is one of the most amazing waterfalls in Araba and Euskadi. Especially in the rainy season. A magical space, located in the north of the Historical Territory of Araba encourages us to enjoy nature with the family. The route that leads us to this waterfall is short, pleasant, simple and beautiful. A great option if we are looking to enjoy nature with the youngest members of the family. But it is not perfect. The lack of parking and the lack of signage means that we recommend that you read each paragraph of this article carefully. 
Information about the Altube Waterfall.

The Altube waterfall is located in the domains of the Gorbeia Natural Park. One of the most important natural areas of Euskadi. An impressive place, which helps us to unload all the stress accumulated in the big cities. A space that we recommend you to visit in every trip to Euskadi. 
Where to park at the Altube Waterfall.
One of the drawbacks of this waterfall is its parking lot. There is barely enough space for 5 vehicles. The access to the parking is made by means of the old road of the port of Altube, the road A-624. The access is 700 meters from the bridge that crosses the A8 freeway towards Bilbao. Next to the Olabarrieta farmhouse. It is not signposted, so we recommend you to be attentive. We leave you a photo of the farmhouse so that you can identify it.
If you plan to visit the Altube waterfall, we recommend that you come early in the morning to avoid any problems. However, there is an alternative. A larger parking lot that is 300 meters away from the original parking lot. It would be a great option if it were not for the fact that the route between the two parking lots is practically along the road. Which is a danger. Especially with children. Although we wanted to cite all possible options, we do not recommend the latter. Be very careful. 
Route to the Altube Waterfall.
The route to the Altube waterfall is short, pleasant and very beautiful. But it is not signposted. What makes you have to pay attention to all our recommendations. Once we park our vehicle, we must follow the track that goes into the forest. At about 750 meters, we will reach the first of the detours. We continue to the right. We begin to hear the Altube river.
Little by little we go down to the Altube riverbed. In rainy season the water usually covers part of the path, but do not worry, in these cases, we find a path on the left that leads to a concrete bridge that allows us to save the riverbed to continue our route.
We continue about 100 meters until we find a narrow path that makes us turn right again. This path is difficult to see, so we recommend that you be attentive.
From this point there is no loss, the waterfall is a few meters from the path, you just have to let yourself be guided by the sound of water. Of course, be careful when descending to the waterfall, the terrain is usually muddy and slippery.
You should know that although this route officially ends at this point. We recommend you to continue until you reach a small house. Next to it, on its right side, we find a bridge that allows us to cross to the other side of the river to enjoy more options. For example, go back to the waterfall and enjoy a different perspective or go up the river discovering new spaces.
As you can see, once we park the car and start the route, we only have 2 detours. But if we make a mistake in any of the 2, it will be difficult to find the Altube waterfall.

- In case you get lost, we recommend that you follow the Altube riverbed until you find the trail.
