A route that, starting from the Parketxe de Sarria, the Interpretation Center of the Alava slope, encourages us to enjoy one of the most beautiful and striking natural landscapes of Euskadi. It is not the first time we tell you about a family route along the Baia riverbed. A few months ago we published a family route along the Baia river in La Encontrada. The route that we present today has certain similarities with its predecessor but in our humble opinion is much more attractive and fun.

The route of the waterfalls of the river Baia offers a pleasant, beautiful and simple route. A perfect plan for all those families looking to enjoy nature as a family. Remember that next to the parking lot, is the Parketxe de Sarria, the house of the Natural Park of Gorbeia. A place where they will be happy to answer any of your questions. The route has no loss, we must only follow the course of the river Baia. There is no detour. This route starts from the right side of the Parketxe, from its back side. Along the route there are multiple bridges that will help us to pass from one bank to another while we go up the river Baia. During the route we will find wetlands, waterfalls, forests and bridges. Elements that make this place a small paradise with a lot of charm. We encourage you to stop at each of the points that catch your attention to enjoy the scenery. It is well worth it. Although the usual route (6 kilometers) is usually shorter, we chose to reach the Arlobi bridge. In any case, the return is done by the same route.

Where to eat.
The different tables and benches surrounding the Parketxe de Sarria encourage us to eat outdoors. We recommend that you bring food from home, whether they are sandwiches or any other dish. Of course, in high season, when the Natural Park is most in demand, these tables are usually very crowded. We recommend you to get up early so as not to coincide with the lunch rush hour. This way it will be easier to find a good table. 
How to get there.
Our adventure begins in the Parketxe Gorbeia (Sarria), on the Alava side. In order to reach our destination we must head for the town of Zuia. In most cases, the best option is to use the AP68 freeway and take exit 21 towards Murgia. Before reaching the town center, we must turn left again to follow the A-4414 road towards Sarria. In any case, if you put “Parketxea Sarria” in Google maps, it will take you directly to the parking lot of the interpretation center of Gorbeia, place from where the route starts.
