During the tour, in addition to discovering the secrets of this Basque industrial heritage, we will also learn about the process of making the tiles themselves. After the guided tour, the youngest members of the family will take part in a workshop where they will get their hands on the clay to put into practice everything they have learned during the visit. History.

Although the kiln and the rest of the tile factory structures were built in the 17th century, they have been rebuilt several times. The first reconstruction took place in 1700 and the last one began in 2017. In this latest reconstruction, in addition to renovating the buildings in the complex, the knowledge of how to make tiles, floor tiles, and bricks was also rescued from oblivion. Complexes such as this one or the Murueta tile factory show us how important this craft was during the pre-industrialization period.
