Gasolino: The gasolino, also known as the boat, was for decades one of the most emblematic transports of Barakaldo. Botanical garden: The botanical garden of Barakaldo, also known as the Ramon Rubial botanical garden, was designed by the architect Diego Rica. This natural space of more than 60,000 square meters was inaugurated in 2002 and is located in the center of the municipality, next to the Megapark shopping center. In this park we find more than 300 species from different parts of the world.

Finca Munoa: In 1860 the farmhouse and land of Munoa were acquired by the then mayor of Bilbao, Juan Echevarria. He was the one who started the works to build one of the most emblematic country houses of Barakaldo. In 1916, the estate was renovated by the architect Ricardo de Bastida, increasing the number of adjoining buildings. In 2014, the city of Barakaldo acquired the property to give it new uses.

BEC: Bilbao Exhibition Centre, better known as BEC, is the great exhibition space of Bizkaia. Thanks to its 6 pavilions, more than 150,000 square meters and 4,000 parking spaces, the BEC encourages us to enjoy events for more than 20,000 people.

Aguinaga Museum: Aguinaga offers one of the most interesting museums of the Mercedes Benz brand. A permanent collection of more than 30 cars, to which other units are added temporarily. Sculpture Park: Next to the courthouse, in Bide Onera Enparantza, we find a small park where young artists have created works of all kinds. Among them, the works that represent different parts of the work “El Guernica” stand out. There is also a playground for the youngest members of the family.

Barakaldo Theater: The theater of Barakaldo, Barakaldo Antzokia in Basque, was designed by the architect Augusto Terrero and built in 1990. This cultural space with capacity for more than 600 people is strategically located in the center of Barakaldo, next to the town hall.

Herriko Plaza: The Herriko Plaza, the town square, houses the town hall of Barakaldo. A meeting place, which, strategically located in the center of the town, encourages us to enjoy the many events that are held there. Lasesarre: The new soccer field of the local team was inaugurated on September 30, 20023. Lasesarre, is located in the lower part, next to the estuary. Currently, the stadium has a capacity for 8,000 people.

Ilgner Building: The Ilgner Building is one of the industrial legacies of Barakaldo. An architectural structure inaugurated in 1927 that was part of the facilities of Altos Hornos de Vizcaya (AHV). This building has a very curious characteristic, its foundations. Due to the marshy soil next to the estuary, a foundation had to be created at a depth of more than 25 meters.

Where to park.

Practically all the urban nucleus has OTA (Ordinance of Traffic and Parking), reason, for which it is necessary to pay to park our vehicles. If you want to avoid paying, you can leave your vehicles in the Megapark area and take the opportunity to do some shopping. Remember that the parking lots, as well as the shopping center, have opening and closing hours.
