Gaztelumendi-Antxon is positioned through its presentations, textures and flavors as a gastronomic reference of the Basque Country on its Atlantic side.
Located in the center of Irun, we find the restaurant where Felix, Angela and Markel, 3 great monsters of Basque haute cuisine, give free rein to their creativity. The establishment is divided into 2 areas, the bar and the restaurant. The bar, famous for its cheese and spicy pintxos, offers a wide variety of pintxos and menu of the day, while the restaurant, delights us with more elaborate creations, typical of today’s cuisine.

Presentation: If you like surprises and innovation, you will love the presentations of the dishes at Gaztelumendi-Antxon restaurant. Leaving behind traditional presentations, basing their dishes on everyday life experiences, the chefs of this restaurant manage to attract attention as soon as they leave the kitchen. The presentation of the dishes at the Gaztelumendi-Antxon restaurant is not to be missed…. have you tried eating in a mirror? Don’t worry, although it may seem uncomfortable, using a mirror as a plate is not such a bad idea, it cuts well, it doesn’t slip and the customers are impressed.
Textures: Throughout the menu we tasted, we went through all kinds of textures, from usual textures in any menu, to new, strange, interesting textures. Have you ever tasted the texture of a crab with shell and everything?
Experience: This restaurant was inaugurated in 1942 and since then it has been renewed, updating its menu, without forgetting the essence of Basque cuisine, high quality seasonal products cooked with great care, a typical restaurant of Irun!
Premises: The Gaztelumendi-Antxon restaurant is independent from the bar of the same name, it has its own entrance and totally different decoration. A place where each and every detail is carefully selected so that all of us feel at home.
Location: In the center of Irun, near the new municipal library and the town hall we find the Gaztelumendi-Antxon restaurant. The subway parking is about 20 meters from the restaurant and is ideal for not having to walk around looking for a place to park.
Attention: Having few tables, makes it possible to receive 100% personalized attention in this restaurant.
Adaptation to the client: As we have already mentioned above the tasting menu varies depending on the tastes of each diner. Only 3 of the dishes on this menu are fixed and are always served, regardless of the tastes of each diner.
Price: The price of this menu is 50 € including VAT, a price that makes the quality-price ratio of the tasting menu of the Gaztelumendi-Antxon restaurant is good.
