Zinemaldia: It is the international film festival of San Sebastian. Since September 21, 1953, the capital of Gipuzkoa has annually offered this film event at the end of September. The city has witnessed the posed of actors and actresses of first level since it has the highest accredited category for events of this genre (category A) and is the only one with this level in Spain. Jazzaldia: It is the oldest festival in Spain (1966) and lasts 5 days (third week of July). It usually has a dozen stages both free and paid and can be indoor or outdoor. For more information, consult the Jazzaldia website.
Tamborrada: The Tamborrada starts at 12 midnight on January 19 until 12 midnight on January 20. More than 125 drums march inside the city during 24 hours (a total of 14000 participants approx.). It is the city’s festival and the most important awards of San Sebastian, the medals for Citizen Merit and the Golden Drum are awarded.
The Concha Flag: The La Concha regattas were first organized in 1879 with fishing trawlers. It is held on the first two Sundays of September and is the most prestigious trawler regatta in Spain.

La Concha Bay: Delimited between the mountains of Igeldo and Urgull, the bay of La Concha is the strong point of San Sebastian without any doubt. The bay has the Ondarreta beach, the Concha beach and the island of Santa Clara. Walking along the promenade is the best way to contemplate the wonder of the Cantabrian Sea.
Old Town: Built in the twelfth century, this urban area gave shelter to the inhabitants of the town until 1813 when there was a fire that forced to rebuild the city. It is located at the foot of Mount Urgull and the sea is just a few meters from the area as it was a fishermen’s neighborhood. Full of twisted and narrow streets, we will find small stores, pintxos bars, and street stalls combined with the oldest buildings of the city such as the Basilica of Santa Maria del Coro, Plaza de la Trinidad or the museum of San Telmo.
Zurriola Beach: Is the third beach of the city and the most unknown to tourists. It is 800 meters long and is the most appropriate for surfing and skateboarding. It is one of the few urban beaches where nudism is allowed.
The Wind Comb: On Ondarreta beach you can observe the 3 steel sculptures (more than 10 tons each) placed on the rock. Work of the sculptor Eduardo Chillida, it does not leave indifferent the visitors who dare to contemplate such a singular landscape.
San Telmo Museum: It is the municipal museum of San Sebastian and was a former 16th century convent now rehabilitated. The museum of Basque society and citizenship exhibits a new approach to society with the help of ethnographic, documentary and archaeological collections.
