The BeMa Restaurant is the result of the fusion of two giants, the Gran Hotel Durango and Martín Berasategui, two great representatives of our culinary culture that, together, present us with a space where gastronomy is written in capital letters. The chef from San Sebastian and the Bizkaia establishment have managed to create a unique gastronomic experience at the foot of the Urkiola Natural Park, an experience that we have been part of by tasting one of the two menus currently offered to its guests, the Durango menu. Every detail of BeMa Restaurant has its meaning, its reason for being, from the aesthetics of the menu to the way of presenting the dishes, gastronomy is an art and Martin Berasategui is its artist. The Restaurant of the Gran Hotel Durango joins the list of restaurants advised by the Gipuzkoan chef Martín Berasategui, thus becoming one of the 12 restaurants that Martín advises around the world. With the creation of the BeMa Restaurant, the Gran Hotel Durango makes clear its commitment to exquisiteness and quality.
Location: The location of BeMa Restaurant gives us a wide range of possibilities. Its geographical location, at the foot of the Urkiola Natural Park, gives us the possibility to enjoy nature in a unique environment, while its location within the hotel complex Gran Hotel Durango offers us the possibility to enjoy all its services: spa, gym, swimming pool… As you can see, an incredible location where feeling and experiencing are the main objectives.

Attention: Possibility of choosing a table, dishes explained in detail, doubts solved at the moment and perfect times between courses gave rise to a pleasant dining experience. To all the above, we must add the fact that the table was not unattended for a single minute, in short, an extraordinary attention. The Durango menu is designed to be tasted in approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, perfect for all those people who want to enjoy this type of menu during the week and their work does not allow them to exceed in time, remember to mention any food intolerance or allergies that you may suffer to the person in charge of the dining room.

Aesthetics: The building that houses the BeMa Restaurant was designed by the architect Alvaro Libano in 1998, a stately space, which, merged with the elements of the BeMa Restaurant creates a simple, elegant atmosphere. The distance between tables in this restaurant offers the necessary intimacy to enjoy the dishes of BeMa Restaurant, perhaps one of the best we have enjoyed during our travels in the Basque Country.
Durango Menu: Currently the BeMa Restaurant offers 3 possibilities to try their creations: a la carte, BeMa menu (58€) and Durango menu (38€). We opted for the Durango menu. In it, we find high quality products prepared with care by the Martín Berasategui team, obtaining a perfect fusion between the tradition of traditional dishes and the current culinary revolution.
Smoked cod parmentier, black olive and crispy Txakoli. Very different textures give rise to an innovative dish in which cod, a traditional product of our kitchens, takes center stage.
Bluefin tuna tataki, beet tartar, sesame, its pommes and raifort. A great fusion of ingredients that creates a dish that is immediately captivating at first sight.
Rice with clams, octopus carpaccio and chive oil. A simple dish with great flavor.
Steamed hake with a parsley pistou, cauliflower cous-cous and tomato air or Grilled sirloin steak with potato terrine, bacon and perigourdine sauce, main courses, dishes with very Basque protagonists (sirloin steak and hake), with a certain innovative touch. In the case of the sirloin we must mention the great result obtained with the potato and bacon terrine, incredible!
Caramelized millefeuille with pine nut chibous and cinnamon ice cream. The dessert, ice cream and mille-feuille, an excellent combination.
Bread, an accompaniment that is often not given the importance it deserves, takes on great importance in this menu, and the fact is that BeMa Restaurant gives us the possibility of tasting its wheat or corn bread with each of its dishes, we fell in love with both types, they are so delicious! Although at first glance it may seem insufficient, the Durango menu is enough to appease the appetite of the most gluttonous.
Price: 38€. That is the price of the Durango Menu of BeMa Restaurant, a menu with a good value for money, an economical menu, a menu suitable for all budgets, 38 € VAT included, remember that does not include drink.
Hotel: The location of the restaurant inside the Gran Hotel Durango allows us to enjoy other services without having to waste time traveling. In fact, we know that the hotel management is working on packages that combine several of the services they offer. Imagine: Sleep at the Gran Hotel Durango (4 stars), have breakfast, go on a hiking route in the Urkiola Natural Park, go down to rest from the exercise in the spa and eat at the BeMa Restaurant, a perfect plan!
Martín Berasategui: Martín is one of the visible heads of Basque cuisine, one of our best gastronomic representatives, a man with character who has marked a before and after in the history of gastronomy in the Basque Country. His restaurant, Martín Berasategui, in Lasarte-Oria (Gipuzkoa), is considered by many as one of the best restaurants in the world. Martín currently has 7 Michelin stars, stars that we hope to increase in the not too distant future.
