Muga taberna a mythical bar in Bilbao’s old town with a lot of variety.
The bar Muga Taberna located in the old town of Bilbao offers snacks for all tastes. Are you carnivorous? Are you vegetarian? Don’t worry, no matter what your gastronomic preferences are, the Muga bar always has a good option prepared for all types of diners.
The Muga bar offers a wide variety of sandwiches, hamburgers and complete and tasty sandwiches that accompanied by the collection of beers that they have makes it a perfect combination.
Muga taberna has more than 30 years of experience in the day to day of the culture, gastronomy and music of the Basque Country, in this place record agreements have been signed, albums of leading groups have been presented in the Basque Country and many other popular initiatives. As an example of all this we can mention the interview that the public television of the Basque Country (EITB) made in the bar Muga to one of our great Basque musicians, Fito.
We leave aside the curiosities of the place and focus on our little gastronomic review. It is not the first time we tried some of the dishes at Muga Taberna but this time, it was special, we opted for the vegetarian dishes. All the dishes looked so good that we came to the conclusion that we should try a little bit of everything, so we decided to share all the dishes listed below:
-Vegetable nachos with two cheeses, guacamole and dip sauce.
-Tofu Shitake sausage sandwich with extra mushrooms, authentic virgin olive ali-oli and tomato tartar.
-Seitan crispy snack, crispy onion, sunflower seeds, guacamole, eggplant, zucchini
As you can see 3 dishes that have nothing to envy to those that we usually taste. The fact that it was 3 vegetarian dishes did not change at all the number of dishes we ordered, whoever says that vegetarian dishes are not filling ….. should stop by the Muga taberna.
In short we can say that the dishes offered by the bar Muga Taberna have good portions, good taste, great variety to choose from and as no….. good atmosphere. If we would have to say a “but” of this place we would say that the music was a little loud, but without it it would not be the Muga…
