Arrugaeta, a restaurant full of traditional Basque cuisine.
We went as a group to taste the traditional dishes of the Arrugaeta Restaurant, and although most of us opted for the beans, there were also those who decided to try their menu of the day.
The beans took up most of our conversation, but the desserts of this restaurant also stood out, 2 dishes that surprised most of the group. The dining room, located at street level, had a capacity of approximately 50 diners, a traditional dining room of the Basque Country in which wood was predominant.
We approached the restaurant Arrugaeta called by the fame of its beans, will they be worth it? pay attention to the article.
Beans with sacraments: Although the restaurant has different menus and dishes, at all the tables in the dining room were present the beans, a dish for which the Arrugaeta Restaurant is known. Many of us in the group opted for the beans as the main dish of the day, a dish that, although it is not the best we have tasted during our travels in the Basque Country, it is of great quality.
The beans, well accompanied by all kinds of sacraments and some good chili peppers (piparrak in Basque), had good flavor and texture. The beans were presented in the center of the table, in a container that served us a plate and a half per head, an amount that most of us satiated our appetite, although if you are a big eater you may need a second plate or repeat beans.
The beans were priced at 10€, a dish with a good quality/price ratio that we decided to accompany with a bottle of Luis Cañas, a winery located in our beloved Rioja Alavesa, undoubtedly a good choice.
Menu of the day: At first we had not thought of the menu of the day as an option for our visit to the restaurant Arrugaeta, but it turned out to be a correct choice, nothing to reproach.
Desserts: One of the surprises that Arrugaeta restaurant gave us, we did not count on desserts so elaborate and with so much flavor, 100% recommended.
Attention: The attention we were given at all times was very good, even more so, considering that in the dining room there was a large table of about 20 people approximately eating at the same time.
Establishment: The establishment located in one of the most popular and at the same time one of the quietest streets of Orozko, made us feel at home, a cozy place where we could taste one of the Basque dishes par excellence.
Arrugaeta Restaurant has our exclusive accreditation “TurismoVasco Tiketa”, accreditation awarded for continuing to offer quality traditional dishes of the Basque Country at a good value for money.
