Basque mythology is present in many of the tales and stories of our people, stories that become reality inside Izenaduba Basoa. In izenaduba basoa we will not only find mythological beings and a place of leisure for the youngest of the house, we also have the opportunity to contemplate one of the oldest baserris (farmhouse in Basque) of the whole Basque country.

The baserri Landetxo Goikoa is the oldest baserri of all Bizkaia and one of the oldest of all the Basque country, in it, we can appreciate the typical architecture of the Basque farmhouses. The baserri Landetxo goikoa is a baserri of the XVI century, more concretely of the year 1510, in which we have the opportunity to know the form in which our ancestors lived, everything an experience for all those people who have lived all the life in the city and are curious to know the way of living of long ago. This Basque farmhouse was acquired in 1999 by the City Council of Mungia and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, two organizations united with the same goal, to rebuild and give life to one of the most emblematic farmhouses in the area, an objective that was achieved with the opening of izenaduba basoa.

This farmhouse is full of life during the Christmas season, a time when it is visited by thousands of Basque children in search of their star moment, the request of their Christmas wishes to Olentzero. One by one, the Olentzero will hold in his arms each child who visits him, listening to each and every one of the wishes that the children transmit to him.
