Taste the most traditional menus of our land by the hand of Egi Luze, a gastronomic complex that allows us to choose between restaurant and cider house.
This gastronomic complex located in the town of Errenteria, has been offering its dishes and cider to anyone who wants to know the flavors of our town since 1980. During our visit, we had the opportunity to enjoy a mixture of both, an experience we had never lived before, a Basque cider house menu in a restaurant.

History: The Egiluze family, influenced by their love of Basque cider, decided in 1980 to convert their house into a traditional establishment of the Basque Country, making our gastronomy known to all those who visit them. As you can see, Egi Luze does not come from nothing, it is the evolution of a Basque farmhouse converted into a restaurant/cider house.
Gastronomy: Normally the word restaurant and sagardotegi (Basque cider house) do not go hand in hand, they are two totally different concepts. In Egi-Luze, they wanted to innovate to offer their customers 2 different but incredible concepts of our gastronomy.
Restaurant: Open all year round, it gives us the opportunity to choose between menu and menu. In it, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the traditional sagardotegi menu but with the exception that the cider is bottled.
Sagardotegi: Open during the Txotx season (January-May), the Egi-Luze Basque cider house has a capacity for 250 diners at wooden tables surrounded by kupelas where the cider rests.
Attention: The attention they offered us was fantastic, from our reception to our departure. We have to point out that the familiar and professional treatment that we were given was not inferior to that of a haute cuisine restaurant in the Basque Country.
Basque tradition and culture: This establishment does not only showcase our gastronomy. Basque symbols, objects, architecture and landscapes come together in Egi-Luze to offer an authentic experience of our land.
Location: Located in the Gipuzkoa region of Oarsoaldea, in the municipality of Errenteria, in the middle of the mountain, between apple trees, near the high of Perurena, it offers us a typical place of our land.
Remember that like the vast majority of Basque cider houses (sagardotegis) you need your own vehicle to reach this establishment.
