Laia Restaurant, variety and quality in the Technology Park of Bizkaia.

Located 5 minutes from Bilbao airport, in the heart of the Bizkaia Technology Park, in Derio, we find the Hotel Restaurante Laia, a small and cozy hotel that serves most of the workers of Derio and Zamudio.

Its structure and design, based on the traditional constructions of our land, the baserris (Basque farmhouses), together with the fact that it is one of the few hotels with “Ecological Hotel” classification in the Basque Country, makes it a winner in our personal list.

Previously we had already talked about restaurants where to eat near the Zamudio technology park, a list in which we must include the restaurant of the Hotel Laia.

During our visit to Hotel Laia we had the opportunity to try the variety and quality of their services. Pintxos, combined dishes, half menu of the day, full menu of the day and special menus made it difficult to make a decision, finally we opted for the half menu of the day. Dining room: The restaurant of the Hotel Laia allows us to eat in its outdoor tent, on the terrace, in the cafeteria, in the dining room on the main floor or in the dining room on the lower floor (reserved for full day menus and special menus), spaces to suit the consumer, you choose.

Attention: The attention given and the time between service and service was simply perfect, our demands were taken care of to the thousand marvels, what is expected in any service.

Half menu of the day: Many times we are used to eating 2 courses, bread, dessert and coffee, a menu that is not the most adequate if after eating you have to continue with your work day. We decided to try if a dish, bread, drink and dessert would satisfy our appetite. The menu of the day and the half menu at Restaurant Laia contain the same dishes, the only difference is in the number of dishes. Our choice: spicy kebabs, water, bread and homemade torrija for dessert.

The brochette, simple, without much fanfare but juicy and with great flavor was accompanied by a spicy sauce and a large quantity of french fries. The spicy sauce gave the dish a noticeable cheerful touch, a dish enough to recharge your batteries, what else?
