The famous Red Bull jumpers will test the water of the Bilbao estuary again at the end of September.
Once again Red Bull cliff diving will be one of the most anticipated events of the year in the Bilbao estuary. Last year Red Bull cliff diving world was one of the most important events of the year, as witnessed by the more than 52,000 people who were present throughout the event. The world’s best jumpers will try to improve on the scores achieved in 2014 from the 27-meter-high La Salve Bridge. The Austrian-based beverage multinational has decided to hold the 2015 finals in Bilbao, which will coincide with the 50th stop of the world series.
The season will feature 8 exciting stops that will conclude with the final in Bilbao at the end of September. This seventh season will feature all kinds of scenarios in remote and urban places that will help to make this amazing sport more spectacular if possible. This year two new stops are included in the Red Bull cliff diving world calendar, Colombia and Bosnia, although we must not forget the United States, France, Portugal, Italy and of course ….. Bilbao.
Orlando Duque, one of the legends of this sport will live a very special day when he starts the 2015 season in Colombian waters, the waters in which he created himself as an elite athlete. But not only Orlando, Gary Hunt, current champion of Red Bull cliff diving world will fight to protect his txapela in the new season, although he will be closely followed by great talents such as Russian Artem Silchenko, winner of the competition in 2013.
On September 26th will come the grand finale in Bilbao, the end of the Red Bull cliff diving world season in the Basque Country. After the success of 2014, Bilbao’s Puente de la Salve will witness the txapeldun of the 2015 season with the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao as a backdrop.
