Meet the NH San Sebastián Aránzazu Hotel, one of the best options to stay in Donostia San Sebastián.
Located in the Antiguo neighborhood, the NH San Sebastian Aránzazu Hotel invites you to enjoy the capital of Gipuzkoa in one of its 180 rooms. A quiet accommodation, well located and with a good quality-price ratio, which helps us to enjoy the Basque coast without any worries. It was from this point, from this hotel, from where we started our walk along the coast of Donostia San Sebastian, a nice experience, which helps us to get to know the city while enjoying a nice walk along the seafront.
NH Collections belongs to the premium segment of the NH Hoteles group, a hotel chain that, in addition to being present in the main capitals of Europe and Latin America, has everything necessary to accommodate independent travelers and MICE tourism clients.
MICE Tourism: Corporate tourism, business tourism. The acronym MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions.
The NH San Sebastian Aránzazu hotel has 4 stars, a rating that is present in each of its services, and the fact is that, as you enter the hotel, the great service offered by this Basque hotel is evident.

NH San Sebastián Aránzazu, one of the best options to get to know Donostia.
Before entering, the location and aesthetics of the hotel, give away what we find inside. This quiet neighborhood with its ample spaces, together with this modern and well-kept hotel, form a fusion of great quality.
Rooms: The hotel has 180 rooms distributed over its 4 floors. And although we did not have the opportunity to check the rest of the rooms, we can talk about ours, a standard double located on the left wing of the 4th floor.
The room, spacious, modern, bright, comfortable and with good views, offered us everything we needed to rest. To highlight, the spacious and comfortable bed, the large bathroom with rain shower head embedded in the ceiling or the 40-inch television.
We leave you an unedited video, so you can perfectly appreciate both the interior and exterior of the standard double rooms of the NH San Sebastian Aránzazu Hotel. No effects, no cheating, just reality.
Parking: Although the hotel has its own parking lot, we do not recommend using it. In the immediate vicinity, less than 100 meters from the door, it is usually quite easy to find a parking space. Street parking is regulated by OTA (Traffic and Parking Ordinance or Parking Tariff Ordinance), you can find all the necessary information (zones, rates, schedules…) on the website of the Donostia City Council. Remember that the price of the hotel parking is 20 euros per day, compared to approximately 5 euros for public parking. Of course, the street parking lots are outdoors, uncovered and the hotel covered and secure, you have the last word, it’s up to you to choose. The hotel parking lot does not accept advance reservations and has a capacity of 78 spaces.
Breakfast: The buffet breakfast offered at the NH San Sebastián Aránzazu hotel meets all expectations. Nothing to envy to the rest of hotels in Euskadi. Another of the strong points of this hotel in San Sebastian.
Thanks to the great attention received and the variety and quality of the products found (to emphasize the small txoko of autochthonous products) we can speak of a breakfast in which all type of people can find a good vein with which to take forces for an intense day of visits by Donostia San Sebastián.
Meeting rooms: As mentioned above, the NH San Sebastián Aránzazu hotel has everything you need to host meetings, conferences or any other event for business travelers. Its 9 meeting rooms attest to this. With a total capacity of 400 people, these rooms include audiovisual equipment, projectors, loudspeakers and all kinds of technological elements to make any type of presentation or event possible, to which can be added all the necessary complements such as a good lunch.
Bar and restaurant: The NH San Sebastian Aránzazu Hotel has a bar and restaurant on the first floor, as you enter on the left hand side. An establishment known as Kukuarri, where you can taste some of the typical dishes of Basque gastronomy by its chef Martin Aristondo.
Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to enjoy their gastronomic creations, but we did enjoy their bar, a modern and aesthetically very well kept place where the only downside is the prices. And the fact is that enjoying a good kalimotxo is expensive in this bar in San Sebastian. While the usual price of a kalimotxo usually ranges between 2 € and 3.5 €, in the NH San Sebastian Aránzazu goes up to 4.5 €, almost nothing.
History: This hotel has not always been a reference in Donostia San Sebastian, before the renovation carried out during the year 2014, the rooms, outdated and without current amenities, were criticized by most of the people who visited them. Fortunately, after more than a year of renovations, after a necessary facelift, the new NH Collection San Sebastian Aránzazu opened its doors in 2015, converted into a full-fledged 4-star hotel.
Location: The Antiguo neighborhood, quiet and residential, offers us everything we need to enjoy this splendid city called Donostia San Sebastian. And is that, in addition to rest without having to worry about the bustle of downtown, it offers us such emblematic and beautiful places as Ondarreta beach, Igeldo, the Peine del Viento, the Miramar Palace or Concha Bay less than 10 minutes walk, a joy.
The center, the old town, is about 30 minutes walk from the hotel, a pleasant walk along the coast, which is not at all heavy. In any case, there is public transportation close to the hotel that will take you directly to any part of Donostia. An example of this are the bus numbers 5 or 25, which, departing from the Antiguo ambulatory (less than 5 minutes from the hotel) take us practically to the center of the city.
Communication: Unfortunately, this is one of the weakest points of this Basque hotel, and it seems that for them there are no other means of communication than the telephone. Email and social networks without communication. Forget about social networks, they do not use them to communicate with their customers, only to show the good side of their hotel establishments. Once their clients publish their experiences in one of the hotels of the chain, they automatically send a predefined message (standard) so that the users transfer all the rights of those snapshots to the NH Hoteles group. They use them for little else.
Price: If we compare with the prices of other hotels in the city, the NH Collection San Sebastian Aránzazu maintains a very good value for money. And, although it is true that many of them may have a more central location, most hotels in the same category, exceed the price offered by this accommodation, even, often, including fewer services. Average price for a double room: 70€ per night.
Small details: The small details make it a great hotel. Both in the common areas and in the room itself, we found a series of details that we loved. Upon arrival, in the hotel lobby, next to the main dining room, we found a small welcome pack, in which, in addition to offering us a welcome drink, we were also presented with jelly beans (a danger for the little ones in the house). On the other hand, in the room, we found water, infusions and coffee, drinks with which to enjoy our stay more comfortably. Small details that are always appreciated.
If you are looking for a hotel in Donostia San Sebastian, we recommend you to book at the NH San Sebastian Aránzazu Hotel, you will not regret it. We look forward to hearing from you.
