Our route through the villages of the Roncal-Salazar region<\/a> in the Navarrese Pyrenees took us to the Suargi bar-restaurant, a restaurant located next to the road linking the towns of Roncal and Burgi that surprised us with the presentation of its dishes and its great cheesecake. The place, small, quiet and cozy, helped to make our experience in this great little restaurant even more pleasant and we took away a very good impression. <\/p>\n

We have to point out that we arrived at the Suargi restaurant by chance, without any recommendation, guided by the force of the weather, because we were on our way to the Belagua valley, when a heavy snowfall surprised us and forced us to turn around and go back to Izaba and from Izaba to Roncal. How wise is the weather! Thanks to this snowfall we had the opportunity to enjoy the best homemade cheesecake we have tasted throughout our travels. <\/p>\n

Menu of the day: <\/strong>The menu of the day at Suargi Restaurant pleasantly surprised us with the quality and presentation of its dishes. Being in a rural environment with so much ecological wealth we expected dishes with high quality raw materials but we did not expect a presentation and mix of products as we found. A gratifying surprise that together with its price, 15\u20ac per diner, convinced us to return on our next visit to the Roncal-Salazar region. <\/p>\n

The only negative point of this menu is that the quantity is just right, although we were not hungry, people with a bigger appetite might be.<\/p>\n

Local: <\/strong>An establishment where bar and restaurant share the same room, a small, cozy and quiet place in the middle of the Navarrese Pyrenees that offered us its warmth before the soft snowfall that cooled the outside temperature.<\/p>\n

Attention: <\/strong>At all times a charming woman attended us offering all kinds of comforts. An example of this is the key to its WIFI signal that she did not hesitate to share with the group (9 people), a service that is appreciated in an environment where, logically, coverage is conspicuous by its absence. <\/p>\n

Cheesecake: <\/strong>We leave for the end our strongest, most important argument, the homemade cheesecake of Suargi Restaurant. In many of the restaurants in the Basque Country they usually offer homemade cheesecake as a traditional dessert of the land, an offer that we rarely refuse. On this occasion we had the opportunity to enjoy a great cheesecake, although there are different tastes, in our opinion it is one of the best we have tasted throughout our travels, hearty, with great flavor and accompanied by an original jam as a final touch. <\/p>\n
