The restaurant Saibigain offers us variety in each of its menus, variety, that accompanied of quality makes of this restaurant a classic of the 7 streets of Bilbao. The restaurant Saibigain owes its name to one of the mountains of the natural park of Urquiola, Saibi mendia. Since its opening in 1952, the restaurant has maintained the same gastronomic and structural line. From the gastronomic line we must mention the traditional cuisine of the Basque country and its famous Iberian hams of acorn of denomination of origin Guijuelo present in many of its dishes. As for the structural line we must mention that this restaurant has the typical 2-story structure of the old town of Bilbao in which wood predominates, making our stay much more authentic, more welcoming. <\/p>\n

In the Saibigain restaurant we can find menus for all budgets, an example of this are two of its most striking menus, the menu of the day and the special menu number 4, both with a recognized quality and variety but with totally different prices, 12 \u20ac and 60 \u20ac respectively. We opted for the menu that the Saibigain restaurant presents on the sign at the entrance of the restaurant, the weekend menu. We were not aware of this menu because it did not appear on their website but the truth is that it caught our attention as soon as we saw it. The price of the weekend menu of the Saibigain restaurant is within the usual prices for eating in the old town of Bilbao, 24\u20ac. <\/p>\n

Here is our opinion of the Saibigain restaurant’s weekend menu, don’t miss it!<\/strong><\/p>\n

As soon as we saw the place, its menu and prices reminded us of our visit to the restaurant I\u00f1akiren taberna, a restaurant that adjoins the restaurant we are talking about today. The flavors presented to us in the Saibigain restaurant were more striking, more intense, but we can not say that it is a restaurant of higher quality than I\u00f1akiren taberna, as both are very good options to taste excellent dishes in the old town of Bilbao. Two restaurants with the same profile and a very good value for money, but …. let’s focus on the restaurant Saibigain:<\/p>\n

Dining room:<\/strong> We can say that the Saibigain restaurant has only one dining room on the upper floor, since the tables on the first floor do not have partitions separating them from the bar, so the atmosphere will always be a bit noisier and noisy. We had booked in advance so we ate on the top floor, tranquility and good atmosphere, you can not ask for more in terms of the dining room. <\/p>\n

Menu:<\/strong> A menu where you can choose to taste, without problems. The variety of their menu makes the dishes available to cover the tastes of all diners. The variety was noticeable at the table, as each dish next to mine was a different dish. “This was one of the most heard comments about the menu of Saibigain restaurant, but not only that, there were also many comments about the quality of the dishes. <\/p>\n

Although I could tell you about each of the dishes of my table companions, I don’t want to bore you, so I’d better tell you about my choices and my sensations.<\/p>\n

For the first course, I chose a creamy rice, which although the portion was not very large, it was enough to appreciate the intense flavor it gave off and the creamy texture it offered. I was pleasantly surprised. <\/p>\n

The second course was a grilled sirloin steak, ordered and served just right. The sirloin did not stand out as much as the first course, but I can’t say anything against it, everything was correct. <\/p>\n

For dessert, cheesecake, good texture, good taste, good portion.<\/p>\n

Conclusion: <\/strong>We can say that the restaurant Saibigain is a restaurant that can be trusted to celebrate any event with friends or family. Their dishes and treatment did not disappoint us. We will come back. <\/p>\n
