The Karpin was created as a Wildlife Shelter and Recovery Center in 1995, a project conceived by the Basque naturist Xabier Maiztegi that has gradually reinvented itself to become what we know today as Karpin Abentura<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Karpin Abentura is currently a shelter for<\/strong> all those wild animals that for various reasons cannot be reinserted in their natural habitat and an animated dinosaur park that, together with the chavarri palace, form a small fortress of history and nature in karrantza.<\/p>\n

Karpin Abentura is a shelter for wild animals, not to be confused with the wildlife recovery centers scattered throughout the Basque Country to which we can go when we find an injured animal:<\/p>\n

–History: <\/strong>The park is located on the estate that belonged to the Ch\u00e1varri family, a family linked to the development of Bizkaia and its history. The construction of the estate began at the beginning of the 20th century and the construction of the palace that presides over the estate was completed in 1911 by Urbano Pe\u00f1a Ch\u00e1varri, engineer of Altos<\/strong> Hornos<\/strong>de Vizcaya<\/strong>and nephew of Romualdo Ch\u00e1varri, a well-known indiano from Karrantza. <\/p>\n
