We must place ourselves in those years and understand the context and situation of that time in which the acquisition of works of art by public bodies was an eccentricity, an eccentricity for which we should be grateful that the Artium Museum has the honor of having works by artists as important as Eduardo Chillida, Nestor Basterretxea, Picasso and Mir\u00f3. The building, located next to the old town of Vitoria-Gasteiz, places most of its works below the surface, leaving the large concrete cube that we find on the surface as a mere indicator of the main entrance of this great museum. The building houses spaces of all kinds among which we find a restaurant (Cube), an auditorium, a main lobby, a store and a cloakroom among many others. Works represented in all kinds of formats, among which we highlight painting, sculpture and photography. The architect Jos\u00e9 Luis Cat\u00f3n, was in charge of giving life to this emblematic building with trapezoidal shape, a place designed to act as a point of social expansion of the Basque Country. Accompanying the Artium museum in this same location are works by great artists of the twentieth century as Jorge Oteiza and Eduardo Chillida, works that we can find as we walk around.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"google-map \"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"\" height=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" marginheight=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d5064.650385745685!2d-2.670742880921227!3d42.84924841451701!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x0%3A0x8e279f5f548ab135!2sArtium%2C+Centro-Museo+Vasco+de+Arte+Contempor%C3%A1neo!5e1!3m2!1ses!2ses!4v1450206879924&amp;output=embed\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Works of Artium<\/strong>: The work &#8220;A Piece of Crystallized Sky&#8221; welcomes us to Artium, a work of artist Javier Perez that captivates all who visit the Artium Museum through its size and sounds, perhaps one of the most photographed works of all this museum Gasteiztarra. Under this great work are the stairs that descend to the anteroom of the museum, the space from which you access the Artium exhibitions. In the anteroom, left and right, located above our heads, we find the work &#8220;Water Flames&#8221; by the artist Anabel Quincoces, a work formed by blown glass pieces that remind us of the seabed. This rate is valid every Wednesday of the year and the weekends following the opening of any exhibition.
