Thus, we will start at the foundation level until we reach the highest (visitable) part of it, passing through the outer walkway of the wall and ending the visit with the restoration of the portico of the cathedral. A chapel composed of a single nave of two sections built outside the walls of the first walled enclosure that protected the city, taking advantage of each of the buildings that were located next to it. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Structure of the complex<\/strong>: This complex of historic buildings groups together a large number of buildings for different uses.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8211; The church of Santa Maria, the oldest and main building of the complex.<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; The chapel of Santiago, today the parish church of Santa Mar\u00eda.<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; The apsidal portico administration, storage and other services related to the installation of the Episcopal see in Vitoria-Gasteiz were created.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Western portico and bell tower: <\/strong>This portico added during the 15th century and modified in the 16th century has great importance within the complex, an importance that is increased if we take into account the bell tower that rises above it, a tower dating from the 16th and 18th centuries that had to be rebuilt in the 19th century after a fire.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5599\" style=\"width: 628px\"
